Lantern-lit storytelling walk to celebrate the Rideau shoreline in Old Ottawa East

Springhurst Avenue to Brantwood Park Fieldhouse - Saturday, September 26, 2009

The walk will cover the stretch of shoreline between the base of Springhurst Avenue and the interpretive panel near the Brantwood Park fieldhouse (near the base of Clegg Street). Springhurst and Clegg both run east from Main Street. Start at either end anytime between 7 and 7.30 and plan to spend about 40 minutes along the way with musicians, storytellers and poets, jugglers, an ecological interpreter, and some of the Oblate priests from Deschatelets. The walk will end just past Springhurst Park with drumming by Samba Ottawa, more storytelling, and a marshmallow roast.

Bring a lantern if you have one, or a flashlight. (No headlamps please!).

The event is hosted by Sustainable Living Ottawa East and sponsored by Mountain Equipment Coop to promote connection to and stewardship of the shoreline.
