Public Consultation regarding SEWAGE in the Gatineau River

Des Lac High School, Masham (La Peche) - Tuesday, March 15, 2011

A public consultation is being held to provide input to the MRC des Collines regarding the proposal to build a septage treatment facility on the banks of the Gatineau River, in Farrellton. This means there will be poorly treated sewage effluent going into the river. Out of your septic tank and into the river!

We need as many people as possible to come out to tell the mayors in the MRC that the health of the river is important to them. It is obvious that we must take responsibility for our waste, however there are sustainable ways to do this. The MRC needs to know that the people of the Gatineau River Valley want to protect the health of our water resources at all costs – what is more important than clean water and a healthy river ecosystem?

When: March 15, 2011 @ 7pm
Where: Des Lacs High School, 32 Passe-Partout Road, Masham (La Peche)

During the consultation members of the MRC Council and the engineering consultants will make a presentation. The MRC is getting ready to choose the final site for the REGIONAL septage treatment facility. Now is the time to let them know what you think about their plan.

For more information and to read the engineering report please visit the MRC’s website and download the report.
