I acknowledge that I am participating at my own risk in the Celebration of our River and I agree to waive all claims of every nature against Ottawa Riverkeeper officials, Nature Conservancy, the event volunteers, the City of Ottawa, the National Capital Commission, and any and all other participating individuals or agencies in respect to any and all personal loss or bodily injury, including death, resulting from my participation in this event.
I acknowledge and understand that participation in this event involves risks to my health and safety, including death, and I willingly accept these risks, and hold no one liable for any harm that may occur during any of the activities I may be involved with. I further acknowledge and understand that I am responsible to obtain my own personal accident insurance coverage should I wish to be eligible for accident benefits that are in excess of those currently covered through my provincial or private health insurance plan(s).
I also acknowledge that I understand the rigours of this event and I verify here that I know myself to be healthy and fit enough to participate in it.
I also acknowledge that I have the paddling experience to participate in this paddle and complete the course. I understand that no emergency motor boats are directly assigned to this paddle as safety.
If I do not have (or am deemed by the event volunteers)the paddling experience, I will only join the paddle in a voyageur canoe if there are seats remaining in the case that I have not pre-registered. If there is no room, I will not compromise safety, by boarding a boat that is at maximum capacity, and will willingly choose to NOT PARTICIPATE in the paddle for safety reasons.
I agree to read the safety section in the provided brochure and I will respect the safety rules.
I agree to permit the event organizers to use any photo taken of me during the event for promotional purposes on its website, in the media or in special promotions.
I acknowledge that I have read and agree fully to the assumption of risk and waiver of liability as described above.
It is $10 to reserve a seat in a voyageur canoe and a suggested donation of $5 for those bringing their own canoes.
