Spring Clean Up on the River

April 30, 2005 - Mud Lake, Britannia Conservation Area - Saturday, April 30, 2005

Join Ottawa Riverkeeper and participate in the City of Ottawa’s Annual Spring Clean Up.

Ottawa River Clean Up

Saturday April 30, 9:00 – 12:00

Mud Lake / Britannia Conservation Area

Ottawa Riverkeeper and Mountain Equipment Co-op are joining forces to clean up the Mud Lake / Britannia Conservation Area in conjunction with the City of Ottawa’s Spring Cleaning the Capital 2005 Campaign.

Mud Lake constitutes the most ecologically significant urban natural landscape in the National Capital Region. A major part of this relates to its acknowledged status as one of the prime urban birding locations in Canada.

We are looking for volunteers to join Ottawa Riverkeeper and MEC on Saturday April 30th between 9:00 ‘til Noon at Mud Lake – parking is available on Cassels Road or at the Britannia Water Treatment Plant at the end of Cassels Road. We will be handing our garbage bags somewhere near the parking area.

If you are interested in joining us, please email Kim Mann or call us at 864-7442. Kim will register your name with the City and you will be eligible for some exciting prizes.

The Newport Restaurant has offered again to host a small BBQ lunch for all participants at Bate Island at Noon. Bate Island is located at off the Ottawa River Parkway, by Island Park Drive next to the Champlain Bridge.
