Tay Watershed Discovery Evening

Exhibits open from 6:30 to 7:45 pm; Presentations at 7:45 pm
- Thirty exhibits with displays and information on the Tay and neighbouring watersheds, the care and protection of our water, natural resources and environment – and the current issues facing these;
- The first presentation of a new series on the theme of “Perspectives on Water” by keynote speaker – Paula Sherman – a leader for the First Nations in challenging the exploration of uranium mining in the Frontenac-Mississippi area, based on several complex and related issues – including the environmental dangers to water and land resources of Uranium mining, native land rights, updating of the archaic Mining Act and the expansion of nuclear energy in Ontario. Ms. Sherman, resident in the Ardoch area, is a mother of four and grandmother of three – and teaches in the Native Studies Department of Trent University.

- Announcement and presentation of FoTW’s sixth annual environmental awards.
