UNITED - DANIEL SUN BEAUCHAMP’S CANOE JOURNEY

From the heart of the Great Lakes to the sacred chaudiere site, May 16 to - Saturday, June 21, 2008

On May 16, 2008, Daniel Sun Beauchamp heads to Sault Saint Marie to commence a special canoe journey to Ottawa.

He calls this trip UNITED, and he undertakes it as a part of his walk on the red path. He holds in his heart a prayer for Creator, the sun, Father sky, Mother earth wind, fire and water and people, love and peace.

The circle of all nations, elders, pipe carriers, fire keepers and friends join him in spirit as he retraces the canoe routes of the aboriginal peoples of the Ottawa river valley

On June 21, other canoeists will take to the waters to accompany him on the last lap of his journey. We invite you to welcome them at Victoria island at noon after the annual sacred pipe ceremony and join in the celebration of national aboriginal day activities
