Arnprior is not going to host any Ottawa River Summit in 2010. Council is not willing to commit to working on the logistics or to put up the kind of money that might be required to host such a meeting. Councillor Jack Lammert said such a leadership role would be better handled by Ottawa, the Federal Government or either Ontario or Quebec. He was not sure what such a role might cost, but he felt it would be a lot.
Councillor Eric Burton expressed disappointment at what he sees as a reversal of a prior council resolution to take such a leadership role.
