City Reports Another Sewage Overflow

Josh Pringle, CFRA News Talk Radio - Tuesday, June 09, 2009

Sunday rain sent more raw sewage flowing into the Ottawa River.

City Councillors have been told an estimated two-million litres of raw sewage overflowed the sewage system and into the waterway on Sunday.

Last week, the city said 117 million litres of raw sewage flowed into the Ottawa River over a six day stretch because of heavy rain.

The city has committed $100 million to fix up Ottawa’s aging sewage infrastructure and stop the flow of sewage into the Ottawa River.
