City Staff say there is no “obvious explanation or cause” for a small sewage spill into the Ottawa River on Monday.
The Ottawa Sun reports Councillors have been told 260-thousand litres of raw sewage overflowed into the river from the Booth Street regulator in a 45 minute period.
An inspection showed the regulator and drop shaft were in proper working order Monday morning.
Last Saturday’s rainfall sent another 59 million litres of untreated sewage into the Ottawa River.
