Teams headed out to Mud Lake to compete in a pond hockey tournament and raise money for a good cause.
The conservation group the Ottawa Riverkeepers held a four-on-four pond hockey tournament on Mud Lake to raise money for the group.
The group patrols the river, and checks the pollution level of the water. They also run a pollution hotline that people can call if they see anything on the river they’re concerned about.
Teams paid a fee to compete, were asked to come up with fun team names in keeping with the light-hearted spirit of the tournament.
One team, “Beer in the Headlights”, even decorated their helmets with antlers for the event.
About $2,000 was raised for the Ottawa Riverkeepers
