Canada honours and respects its leading rivers by distinguishing them as Canadian Heritage Rivers. The Ottawa River is poised to take its place within this network of rivers.
The Ottawa River Heritage Designation Committee presents a series of public information/consultation sessions from 10 am to 4 pm at the following locations.
August 30 & 31/08 Pinhey’s Point Historic Site

Input from these sessions will be used to develop a heritage strategy to conserve the outstanding natural, cultural and recreational values of the Ottawa River. Canadian Heritage Rivers depend on existing laws and
regulations, and respect the rights of Aboriginal peoples, communities, private landowners, and the public.
