Josh Pringle, CFRA News Talk Radio - Thursday, June 04, 2009

Six days of rain has sent more raw sewage flowing into the Ottawa River.

The Ottawa Sun reports City Councillors have been told heavy rainfall between May 27th and Monday sent 117 million litres of sewage into the river.

Since the end of February, the amount of raw sewage that has spilled into the Ottawa River is an estimated 325 million litres.

City Councillors were informed Tuesday that an open sewer gate in downtown Ottawa on Monday resulted in 38-thousand litres of raw sewage flowing into the river.
