The wet snow and rain in the forecast to start the week could boost water levels across the region.

Forecasters expected water levels to peak over the weekend on waterways after last week’s warmer temperatures.

Spring-like temperatures were expected to melt snow across the National Capital Region, boosting water levels along the Rideau River and the Ottawa River.

The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority said water levels were expected to rise onto low lying lands along the Rideau River between Kemptville and Kars over the weekend.

Twenty homes in North Grenville were isolated along Hilly Lane Private over the weekend due to rising waters.

Meantime, the Ottawa River Regulating Committee expects water levels in the southern portion of the Ottawa River to rise slightly due to the warmer temperatures.
