The Ottawa River Regulating Committee says without significant rainfall, water levels and flows along the Ottawa River will continue to remain below average.
Spring water levels and flows are below average on the main stem of the Ottawa River from Pembroke to the Montreal Region.
The committee blames below normal precipitation during the winter and spring along with mild temperatures for producing well below average runoff through the Ottawa River watershed.
A media release does say water levels this spring are those normally observed during the summer period.
