Waterways Warning

Josh Pringle, CFRA Radio - Monday, January 07, 2008

Above-seasonal temperatures and rainfall is prompting warnings to stay away from waterways across the region.

The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority says everyone needs to be aware of the unstable ice and fast-moving waterways.

The authority is advising residents that ice jams may also occur at culverts, low bridges and narrow channels of creeks and streams.

One area of concern is the Lower Rideau River in downtown Ottawa.
