Our website is now available in French

Marie-Josee

To better achieve our mission and reach out to all communities in our watershed, our website is now available in French and English.

This achievement was made possible by our star volunteer intern Marie-Josee Cusson (left). Marie-Josee, a student at the Universite du Quebec en Outaouais, will complete our French site by September.

Chalk River Nuclear Laboratories

Ottawa Riverkeeper submitted a request to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission to give an oral presentation at a public hearing on June 28, 2006. The hearing is concerning the application by Atomic Energy of Canada Limited for the renewal of the operating licence for the nuclear research and test establishment located at the Chalk River Laboratories. We were granted intervenor status and you can view the agenda for the hearing here.

If you have concerns about the operations at the nuclear laboratories please do not hesitate to contact the Riverkeeper.

Our Director of Outreach received a $600 cheque from the EarthCare Club students at Bell High School. Ottawa Riverkeeper presented a certificate to acknowledge the students’ efforts to keep the Ottawa River clean for our future generations.
