Today, Ottawa Riverkeeper released the first-ever State of the River Report for the Ottawa River.
This unique and important report, available in French and English, highlights the importance of this incredible river ecosystem and identifies major environmental impacts that are currently jeopardizing its health.

The report was made possible by the collaboartive efforts of over 40 volunteer experts, scientists, engineers, environmentalists, photographers, graphic designers, editors, translators, and communication specialists.
We would like to thank and acknowledge the following contributors to the first River Report: Earthlore Communications, Ontario Trillium Foundation, Ottawa Field Naturalists’ Club, Mountain Equipment Coop, Tri-Graphic Printing, MapInfo, Luna Earth-Choice provided by Domtar.
Details of the State of the River Report will be presented and discussed at Ottawa Riverkeeper’s Annual General Meeting to be held on June 13, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. at Lakeside Gardens in Britannia Park. The meeting is open to the public.
There will be opportunity to give input into the theme for the next River Report – what would you like Riverkeeper to research and report on?
In the future, Waves will be available in English and French.
