The Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) has made their decision on SRBT’s operating licence. Ottawa Riverkeeper applauds the decision and is relieved that SRBT will not be allowed to release water contaminated with tritium into the Ottawa River.
Ottawa Riverkeeper is perplexed by how the CNSC allowed the situation at SRBT to get so bad and we will be keeping a watchful eye on the regulators and the company to ensure the site is properly cleaned up.
