Chalk River Nuclear Facilities
The Fort Williams Riverwatchers’ area encompasses from the Short Turn near the Petawawa Yacht Club to Oiseau Rock. The shoreline is a mix of rock with sandy stretches and numerous islands are located in the middle of the mighty river.

View of the river from Oiseau Rock
This stretch of the Ottawa River is an historic part of the river as it includes Oiseau Rock at the upper end of the river past the former H.B.C. post of Fort William and then down past CFB Petawawa to Petawawa Point. Chalk river nuclear facilities are located on the shore along the Ontario side of the river. Permanent residents, cottagers, and boaters enjoy this beautiful part of the river.
