Fish death in August 2006
Today, the Aylmer riverwatcher focusses her efforts in the Parc des Cedres. However, she is supported by the Coalition of Residents’ Associati which represents over 3400 homes in this area. The Coalition of Residents’ Associations is committed to being the first community group in Quebec to actively support the Ottawa Riverkeeper organization.
Citizens in the region have expressed concerned about the impact of the marina on the Ottawa River, the increasing boat traffic, and the renovations of the marina du lac Deschênes.
Moreover, during the summer of 2006, cottagers and residents became concerned about the poor water quality, beach closures, and fish consumption advisories.
