Norway Bay is a large bay (approx. 4 km in length) located on the Ottawa river about 50 km west of Aylmer in Bristol, Quebec. The bay is characterized by it sandy beaches and shallow waters to approx. 60 feet. The shoreline is very developed with cottages, 4-season homes, and a golf course.

The 3 most significant threats to the river in Norway Bay are:

• shoreline development,
• runoff from local farms, and
• increasing motor boat traffic.

During the summer of 2006, cottagers and residents became concerned about the poor water quality, beach closures, and fish consumption advisories.
