Shoreline destruction in L'Isle-aux-Allumettes
On August 10, 2006, Meredith Brown, The Riverkeeper was patrolling the river in the Whitewater Region with local citizens and they witnessed a major shoreline development occurring in the municipality of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes.
The local municipality will be informed about this degradation. The picture shows the extent of the work done on the shore of the Ottawa River. This shoreline is already starting to erode as stormwater is running off the land. This is probably impacting the habitat for aquatic life.
