Katharine is an award-winning environmental, gardening and travel writer who is author of five guides to our National Capital Area and Quebec. She self-published her first book, Historical Walks: The Gatineau Park Story, which is a Canadian best seller.
Because of her books and specialization on our region’s natural and human history, Katharine is frequently hired as a lecturer or commentator on environmental, historical or other issues on the National Capital Region. She also is asked to lead custom hikes of Gatineau Park, walks of Ottawa, and bus trips throughout the National Capital Region. Her travel, gardening, nature and environment columns and features focus on fostering stewardship for the wild spaces — and for the wild creatures which depend upon ecological biodiversity.
Katharine lives on and telecommutes from Spiritwood, her 100-acre farm which she shares with her husband Eric Fletcher, two horses and two cats. Contact Katharine at Chesley@allstream.net and check out her books at MEC, Leishmans, or at her website www.chesleyhouse.com/Books/OurBooks.htm
