American Bullfrog
American Bullfrog (also simply known as the bullfrog) or Lithobates catesbeianus
Size: The American bullfrog is the largest of all North American frogs. They can grow as large as 20 centimeters and weigh 1.5 pounds.
Habitat: American bullfrogs live in warm shallow water in lakes, rivers, ponds or bogs.
Diet: This species of frog eat anything that they can fit in their mouth such as rodents, crayfish, small reptiles, amphibians, birds, bats and insects.
Native/non-native: Native to North America
Status: This species of frog currently at risk but is becoming more common in man made areas.
Fun Fact: Females can lay up to 25,000 eggs that sit on the surface of the water like a sheet of paper floating on the water.
