Ottawa Riverkeeper celebrates a major milestone by announcing federal funding for its planned move to new location on the Ottawa River.

Over the course of two cleanups in Thurso and Hawkesbury, volunteers collected over 1400lbs of trash from the shorelines of the Ottawa River! More cleanups are planned over the summer as part of this ongoing partnership with the Pacte d’Amitié.

After several successful cleanups in 2021, Ottawa Riverkeeper and the regions of the Pacte d’Amitié have announced new cleanups for the summer of 2022 as a continuation of their partnership to protect the Ottawa River and its watershed.

Laura Reinsborough will be the organization’s new Riverkeeper & CEO. She will lead Ottawa Riverkeeper to tackle the many challenges and opportunities facing our watershed.

Audrey Bureau, Municipal Councillor for Aylmer, and Ottawa Riverkeeper’s Community Outreach Coordinator, Alejandro Prescott-Cornejo, met at parc des Cèdres to film a video to share the excellent news.
