Third in our Riverkeeper announcement series, this blog takes a look at Water Leaders: what qualities do they share, and what does it mean to be one?

From July 12th to 14th the Youth Water Leaders embarked on a river adventure with OWL rafting to get out and experience the watershed. Written by the Youth Water Leaders, this blog is the story of that trip.

This past Saturday a group of 8 young people gathered at the Ottawa Riverkeeper office to kick-off the Youth Water Leaders Program!

Over 40 families came out to learn about the rich diversity of fish species that live in the Ottawa. They got to participate in activities and meet some resident fish that call Petrie Island home.

Andrea Anzai (second from right), the youngest in a family of elite swimmers, needs your support so future generations on both sides of the river can enjoy a swimmable, drinkable, fishable river.
