Scientific Name: Carex bebbii
Size: The leaves are 2 to 5 mm long and the flowers are 1 to 3 cm long.
Habitat: This plant can be found in riverbanks, meadows, ditches, swamps and damp woods in Alaska to Newfoundland, Oregon, Colorado and New Jersey.
Native: Native to North America.
Status: This plant is currently stable.
Fun Fact: There are 2 dozen other sedges similar to the Bebb’s sedge, making it somewhat hard to identify. The spikes of the sedges are bisexual with female flowers.
