Get ready for a very special shoreline cleanup at Aylmer Island on September 19th. Organized by Youth Water Leaders, this cleanup will be done by ferrying participants to the island by boat! The main point of departure will be from the Nepean Sailing Club at 9:30 am. Additionally, rides are available from the Aylmer Marina courtesy of volunteers. The cleanup will end around noon.

Due to the need to ferry participants to the island, space is very limited. If you intend to go to this cleanup, you must register in advance. If you don’t think you will be able to make it, please be courteous and relinquish your spot for another participant.

If you have room for others in your boat and are willing to help ferry volunteers, please contact us as communications@ottawariverkeeper.ca.

Ottawa Riverkeeper will be assisting by providing equipment to cleanup volunteers in the form of buckets, gloves, and bags, as well as hand sanitizer. We encourage volunteers to bring their own equipment as well. It is crucial to wear sturdy, appropriate footwear and clothing, and, if you wish, to bring a reusable water bottle and bug spray. Although the event is taking place outside we encourage you to wear masks when unable to keep physical distance!
