A fundraiser to protect our Ottawa River

Thank you to everyone who has supported and participated in Ottawa Riverkeeper's annual Open Water Swim over the years. We understand the significance of the interprovincial swim, which connects the two shores of our river together, and celebrates the legacy of Tom Anzai. While we won’t be holding a 4K swim event in 2024, we are committed to offering alternative activities that celebrate all aspects of our beautiful river and continue to foster community spirit.

Tom Anzai - In Memory We Swim

Tom was the founder and Race Director of the annual Riverkeeper swimming event. He had the vision to swim from one shore of the historic Ottawa River to the other. He swam it, and then invited all fellow swimmers to participate in what he called an epic charity event. His passion for the event was contagious. He didn't miss an opportunity to speak not only of the swim but also of the importance of a healthy Ottawa River. Tom exemplified dedication and community service.
