With the 2025 Quebec municipal elections approaching, we want to highlight the important role of municipalities in safeguarding our waterways and what to keep in mind when your municipality goes to the polls.

What do farmers, scientists, mayors, conservationists, Algonquin community members, and community leaders have in common? Last month, they all came together on the shores of Lake Temiskaming for the annual Building Ties meeting to talk about something that connects them all: the health of the lake.

After several successful cleanups in 2021, Ottawa Riverkeeper and the regions of the Pacte d’Amitié have announced new cleanups for the summer of 2022 as a continuation of their partnership to protect the Ottawa River and its watershed.
