Youth Delegation Video Project

A dynamic group of young adults are united through a common interest in learning about how best to protect freshwater in this country. Get to know what watershed issues are important to them through the project they developed after the 2015 Ottawa River Summit.

Dear friends,

We first came together to participate in the Aquahacking – Ottawa River Summit 2015 as members of the Youth Delegation, where we had the opportunity to learn about various issues affecting the Ottawa River. The Summit galvanized us into action—inspiring us to look for ways communities living in and around the watershed can help ensure that our river stays clean for years to come.

That’s why even after the Summit was over, we continued to meet and interact with Ottawa Riverkeeper staff and volunteers. Their inspiring work allowed us to keep up the momentum we felt on historic day.

Now, Ottawa Riverkeeper has given us this platform to express our ideas and let our voices be heard within the broader water community. Thank you Ottawa Riverkeeper! We decided to take advantage of this opportunity by developing short films that highlight specific issues affecting river health and specific actions that the public can take. Visit our individual pages below to watch these videos, learn more about us and about the watershed issues that matter to us.

We hope that our message resonates with you,

Amy, Marny, Meaghan, Oliver, Sahar and Turkoize
