An update on the Ottawa Riverkeeper Open Water Swim
While we won’t be holding a 4K swim event in 2024, we’re excited to share other engaging ways for you to connect with and support the Ottawa River.
Thank you to everyone who has supported and participated in Ottawa Riverkeeper’s annual Open Water Swim over the years. We understand the significance of the interprovincial swim, which connects the two shores of our river together, and celebrates the legacy of Tom Anzai. While this event will not take place in 2024, we are committed to offering alternative activities that celebrate all aspects of our beautiful river and continue to foster community spirit.
2024 Summer Events
Golf for a Cause
Tee off with the inaugural Riverkeeper Classic on September 9th, a new fundraising golf tournament for the river. Enjoy playing 9 holes at the beautiful Tecumseh Golf Course, followed by cocktails, dinner, and an auction.
Join us on the green to support the river!
Run for the River
Run along the river as part of Courons Gatineau, a new river-themed running event in Gatineau! Not only will you get majestic views of the Ottawa and Gatineau rivers as part of the event, but the organizers are inviting runners to make a donation to Ottawa Riverkeeper when they register, and race sponsor Evolugen will match all donations made. We’ll also have a booth at the event where you can come and say hi, and learn about this amazing watershed.
Swim at the NCC River House
Swim at the NCC River House docks, right next to Ottawa Riverkeeper’s offices and Learning Lab! The docks are open daily from 7 am to 7 pm throughout the summer, with lifeguards on duty. Ottawa Riverkeeper also tests water quality at the site, so look out for our team doing monitoring and visit our Learning Lab during open hours.

Stay updated on all these events and more via our newsletter, social media, and website.
Thank you for your continued support!
